Georgia equipment company acquires Columbia’s Van Lott Inc. Print E-mail

COLUMBIA -- Flint Equipment Co., an Albany, Ga.-based John Deere distributorship for nearly 40 years, purchased Van Lott Inc., a 73-year-old, family-owned John Deere construction and forestry equipment distributor headquartered in Columbia. The purchase price was not disclosed.

SPARTANBURG -- An order approved last month by the state's Public Service Commission for a process called "net metering" appears to be gaining a foothold among alternative energy enthusiasts in South Carolina and, experts say, saving customers money on their electric bills.

Poultry workers arrested on immigration violations Print E-mail

GREENVILLE -- Federal agents have arrested five additional House of Raeford Farms employees and continue to search for others as part of their investigation into alleged immigration violations at the company's Greenville poultry plant.
