BLUFFTON -- Inspectors have ordered roof repairs in hundreds of Sun City Hilton Head homes, and some are set to receive a second round of repairs, according to an official with Pulte Homes, the developer of Sun City.

COLUMBIA -- Four years after Mack Trucks pulled out of Winnsboro, Guardian Industries moved in with a plant that opened this year making fiberglass insulation for homes. The bursting of the dot-com bubble in 2000 forced Pirelli to abandon its fiber-optic cable plant in West Columbia. But in 2005, Pella Corp. moved in with a plant.

BLUFFTON -- A Bluffton developer is seeking approval of an 860-home addition to its initial master plan, but school officials are concerned about the effects the Hampton Lake expansion will have on area classrooms.

HGTV to build 'green home' in area Print E-mail

HILTON HEAD -- Cable home and garden network HGTV broke ground on its first "green home" recently in the Hilton Head Island area, and it will be featured in a series the network will air in 2008.
