'Project Teal' could bring 500 jobs to Greenville Print E-mail

GREENVILLE -- Greenville County is in the running for about 500 jobs that could be created by a company moving from outside the area, according to action taken earlier this week by County Council. If the code-named Project Teal "comes to fruition, it will be a little less than 500 jobs and about a $10 million investment," council Vice Chair Judy Gilstrap said.

Hardeeville plans to annex land for new development Print E-mail

HARDEEVILLE -- Hardeeville's City Council on Thursday took the first official step toward annexing 282 acres in unincorporated Beaufort and Jasper counties. The council also voted to enter into a development agreement for the land with The Sembler Company, an Atlanta-based group that said the move could bring up to 4,000 jobs and as much as $250 million in investments to the city and surrounding area. Both votes were the first of two required readings.

GREENVILLE -- SC BIZ News LLC, owner of the Charleston Regional Business Journal and SCBIZ magazine, announced on Thursday the acquisition of GSABUSINESS, a bi-weekly business journal covering the Upstate. “The opportunity for growth for GSABUSINESS is now at a point where there is only so much growth we can do on our own,” said Joe Thaler, owner of The Gnu’s Paper Co.

International Commerce Park to be announced today Print E-mail

MYRTLE BEACH -- The land once slated for a new airport terminal is now planned for a commerce park designed to attract the aeronautics industry to Myrtle Beach, officials said. The creation of the 430-acre Myrtle Beach International Commerce Park, intended to draw aviation-related businesses and research and development offices, will be announced today at the Myrtle Beach General Aviation Terminal.
