Sen. Graham pulls in big money for area airports Print E-mail

GREENVILLE -- Sen. Lindsey Graham secured a $2.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation improvements at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. Graham also garnered two smaller grants for Greenville's Donaldson Center Industrial Air Park and Greenville Downtown Airport.

I-95 Initiative focused on economic development Print E-mail

ORANGEBURG –- South Carolina State University and Francis Marion University have joined together to launch the I-95 Corridor Initiative, an effort the two universities hope will address long-running development challenges along this region. Sixteen counties along Interstate 95 make up the corridor.

Residents offered new green power program Print E-mail

COLUMBIA – A new program is being offered through Palmetto Clean Energy that allows state residents to purchase blocks of electricity generated from renewable or “clean” sources, such as wind, solar and biomass. The program is one of the first multi-utility programs offered in the nation.

Kaydon further expands Sumter facility Print E-mail

SUMTER -- Kaydon Corp. announced it will expand one of its two plants in Sumter, adding up to 10 new jobs and investing $4.5 million. Kaydon said it exceeded its numbers on an earlier $6 million expansion.

SCE&G, Santee Cooper file to add nuclear reactors Print E-mail

COLUMBIA -- SCE&G and Santee Cooper have filed an application with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to build two nuclear power units at the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in Jenkinsville.
