GREENVILLE -- Sen. Lindsey Graham secured a $2.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation improvements at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. Graham also garnered two smaller grants for Greenville's Donaldson Center Industrial Air Park and Greenville Downtown Airport.

ORANGEBURG –- South Carolina State University and Francis Marion University have joined together to launch the I-95 Corridor Initiative, an effort the two universities hope will address long-running development challenges along this region. Sixteen counties along Interstate 95 make up the corridor.

COLUMBIA – A new program is being offered through Palmetto Clean Energy that allows state residents to purchase blocks of electricity generated from renewable or “clean” sources, such as wind, solar and biomass. The program is one of the first multi-utility programs offered in the nation.

SUMTER -- Kaydon Corp. announced it will expand one of its two plants in Sumter, adding up to 10 new jobs and investing $4.5 million. Kaydon said it exceeded its numbers on an earlier $6 million expansion.
