Force Protection back in NASDAQ's good graces Print E-mail

LADSON -- NASDAQ announced Wednesday it would continue to list the MRAP maker's stock after threatening to delist Force Protection Inc. for failing to file SEC reports. Earlier this week, the Marine Corps Systems Command exercised a contract modification Monday for $41.8 million to provide service and support for armored vehicles from Force Protection.

LADSON -- The armored-vehicle maker reported net income of $15.3 million, or 12 cents a share, for the six months ending June 30. That compares with $183,000, or less than a penny per share.

Mohawk to shut down S.C., Georgia plants Print E-mail

DILLON -- Mohawk Industries announced plans Tuesday to close its yarn manufacturing facility in Dillon within 60 days, impacting its 137 employees. Mohawk will also close its facility in Fort Oglethorpe Ga., where it employs 235 workers.

Laurens manufacturer to add 30 jobs Print E-mail

LAURENS -- CeramTec North America Corp. announced Tuesday it would add 30 jobs and spend $10 million to expand its Laurens County facility after signing a contract to supply technical ceramics to a U.S. petrochemical firm.
