GREENVILLE -- Lockheed Martin Corp. plans to cut 50 to 100 jobs at its aircraft refurbishing operation at the Donaldson Center industrial park in southern Greenville County. Affected employees will receive formal notification early next week, the company said in a statement.

DENMARK -- An Idaho-based training organization for emergency first responders is moving its headquarters and training facility to Denmark, S.C. With this move, Government Training Institute Inc. will bring approximately 15 jobs and $2 million in capital investment.

GREENVILLE -- BMW of North America and nine other carmakers in the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers said the cost of reaching new U.S. fuel-efficiency standards will be higher than estimated and that the timetable to meet the standards is too tight.

GREER -- BMW Manufacturing Co. is on a mission to increase its productivity by 7% to 8% a year, an aim for all of BMW Group's factories worldwide. It's not a new goal, although in the past the aim has been a 5% improvement annually. "We do this every year," said Bobby Hitt, manager of public relations for the plant near Greer.

COLUMBIA -- Michelin North America plans to spend another $90 million to upgrade equipment and expand production at its two Lexington County tire plants. Michelin has announced $200 million in projects in Lexington County in the past 10 months. Work is nearly complete on $110 million in expansions and upgrades announced in August.
