MOUNT PLEASANT -- Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta has announced it will award more than $6.2 million to help South Carolina developers fund 20 affordable housing projects. FHLBank Atlanta will partner with local developers for projects in the cities of Aiken, Allendale, Blackville, Bluffton, Columbia, Darlington, Greenville, Lake City, Orangeburg, Pickens, Ridgeland, Saluda, Sumter and Ware Shoals as well as Charleston and Oconee counties.

GREENVILLE -- Greenville got a little greener on Wednesday when the U.S. Green Building Council recognized the Collaboration 3 Building on the CU-ICAR campus with a LEED Gold Certification. The 117,000-square-foot facility includes Class A offices and product prototype and development laboratory space. It is the first project in the South Carolina to achieve the LEED Gold distinction.

MYRTLE BEACH -- Tough times in the real estate market means many Realtors are calling it quits, according to the Coastal Carolinas Association of Realtors. About 963 members of the association decided not to renew their membership this year.

GREER -- Annexations and zoning of four properties at the Greer exit off of Interstate 85 may sail through the Greer city approval processes without opposition. A $295 million mixed-use development including retailers, hotels and a cinema has been proposed for the properties.
