GREER -- With 16 new businesses in 2006, construction of the new city public safety complex and municipal courts building and two new hospital complexes targeted for opening 2008, Greer's housing market is continuing a four-year growth trend, according to local builders and city officials.

COLUMBIA -- CanalSide, the new neighborhood being built on the old state prison site in Columbia, is opening a Vista showroom today to help boost its condo sales in the face of a slumping market. The company has presold half of the 58 condos offered and 15 of the 35 luxury townhomes. The units run from $180,000 for a one-bedroom condo to $470,000 for a three-bedroom townhome.
