SUMMERVILLE -- Palmetto Behavioral Health has named McBee Zimmerman as executive director of Palmetto Pines Behavioral Health, located in Summerville. Prior to joining Palmetto Behavioral Health, Zimmerman was employed as director of Shelter Services with Carolina Youth Development, where she was awarded a Duke Endowment grant that afforded the organization a comprehensive family program.

NORTH CHARLESTON -- Dr. Fran Tunney will serve as medical director and R. Taylor Lee will serve as CEO for Patient One Medical Center in North Charleston. Tunney brings 20 years of medical experience to his new position. Lee brings more than 15 years of experience in operations management, public relations, sales, and marketing.

SOUTH CAROLINA -- Setcom Media Inc., publisher of the Charleston Regional Business Journal and SCBiz, has hired Scott Miller as staff writer, Andy Owens as managing editor and Ryan Wilcox as art director. Previously, Miller was a reporter with the Bloomington, Ill., Pantagraph, Owens worked as an assistant managing editor for The (Charleston) Post and Courier, and Wilcox was an art director for Charleston-based Atlantic Publication Group LLC.

CHARLESTON -- The board of the South Carolina State Ports Authority has elected David J. Posek of Greenville to serve a two-year term as chairman and approved upland site work for a new terminal in the Port of Charleston. Gov. Mark Sanford named Posek to the Authority Board in October 2005, and he has served as secretary since 2006. He has also chaired the board’s Strategic Planning Committee.

CHARLESTON -- Amanda Jackson, Matt Hamilton and Tammy Scott have joined The Art Institute of Charleston. Jackson was hired as the school’s registrar. Formerly, she was the associate registrar at The Art Institute of Charlotte, N.C. Hamilton was hired as an assistant director of admissions for the school. Originally from Spartanburg, S.C., Hamilton comes to The Art Institute from the telecom industry, working previously as an account executive for US LEC Corp. Scott was hired as the school’s receptionist. She was previously a social worker in Indianapolis.
