Vivian A. Wong, co-founder and chairwoman of the Pacific Gateway Capital LLC, has been named the 2007 Woman of the Year by Charleston Women in International Trade.
"Wong's expertise in facilitating U.S.-China bi-lateral trade and
investments significantly benefits the international trade community
and ranks her highly deserving of our distinguishing award," said Pam
Everitt, CWIT's chairwoman.
Wong's latest project as co-founder of the Global Trade Center in
Greenville provides a facility for Chinese companies to showcase goods
and a meeting place for U.S. companies to collaborate with Wong on
gaining access to Chinese markets.
While serving on the board of the Sister City International
Organization, Wong was instrumental in establishing Tianjin, China, as
a sister city to Greenville, and Wong is the South Carolina's Honorary
Trade Ambassadors to China. Wong currently serves and has previously
served on various boards, including the Greenville Tech advisory
board, the Greenville Tech Entrepreneur Forum, the Greenville
Convention & Visitors Bureau board, the Bank of America board, the
Summit Bank board, the Furman University advisory board and the Ryan's
Restaurant Group Inc. board.
Wong received the award at CWIT's annual banquet April 10 in Charleston.
