SCANA, subsidiaries pay more than $130M to S.C. counties Print E-mail

CAYCE -- SCANA Corp. and its subsidiaries, including S.C. Electric & Gas Co., paid more than $130.4 million in property taxes in South Carolina in 2009.

Richland and Lexington counties received more than $45 million of that total. Richland County received $23.8 million, which is the largest tax payment the company made to any county.

“Those dollars will help support schools, police, fire and other critical public services in the communities we serve,” SCANA spokesman Eric Boomhower said.
