MT. HOLLY -- JW Aluminum Co. has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase Coastal Aluminum Rolling Mills Inc. Coastal Aluminum operates a rolling mill facility in Williamsport, Pa., and is well known for producing high quality products. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.

“We are excited to announce our second acquisition in just five weeks, and we could not have picked a better company to be our partner,” said Don Kassing, president and CEO of Mt. Holly-based JW Aluminum.

In April, JW Aluminum purchased Rollex Aluminum’s DC cast/rolling facility in Jackson, Tenn.

“Coastal has an excellent reputation and the team in Williamsport is second to none. We believe this acquisition will create tremendous synergies in both the technology and new product areas,” Kassing said.

Coastal Aluminum Rolling Mills Inc. is a worldwide supplier of quality aluminum products and offers a diversified product line. Coastal is the world's largest producer of light gauge 3000 and 5000 series alloys used for honeycomb by the aerospace industry, and its division Chromagraphic Processing Co. is widely recognized as a leading supplier of coated aluminum coil for window blind fabricators and distributors in the U.S. and around the world.

Coastal Aluminum will bring new product lines to JW Aluminum, and will allow JW Aluminum to enter the aerospace and other high-strength aluminum markets.

JW Aluminum manufactures specialty flat-rolled aluminum products including “fin stock” used by the heating and cooling industry, light gauge converter foil for the flexible packaging industry, and heavier gauge bare and painted sheet for the building and construction markets, as well as other foil and sheet products.
