COLUMBIA -- VC3, a computer and Internet technology services provider, has acquired Excelsio Communications, a premier municipal broadband consulting group based in Alpharetta, Ga. 

David Dunn, CEO and chairman of VC3, has been appointed president of Excelsio. Excelsio’s founder, Karl Edwards, retains his responsibilities as chief operating officer of Excelsio and now leads VC3’s Wireless Broadband Business Unit. Excelsio Communications is a wholly owned subsidiary of VC3, and will continue to provide its existing portfolio of services under the Excelsio Communications brand name and through the current marketing channels.
