MYRTLE BEACH -- Balmoral, a neighborhood of 60 single-family homes offering General Electric's ecomagination environmentally friendly energy and appliance products, has broken ground in Withers Preserve. The neighborhood features wide front porches and detached two-car garages with comfortable backyards.

"The ecomagination program in Balmoral gives our homeowners the opportunity to be good stewards of the environment and save money by reducing their energy costs," said Withers Preserve Management president Rick Ryan. "It is a winning combination for everyone and raises the bar for new communities worldwide."

Withers Preserve is being developed by RWO Acquisitions LLC of New York City in harmony with the master-planned redevelopment program at the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. The project includes a 3,970-acre parcel of land with $30 million of new infrastructure including 29 acres of lakes, new community parks and four miles of new roads, all contiguous to a planned expanded Myrtle Beach airport.

Residents will access Withers Preserve via Farrow Parkway, a thoroughfare for local and visitor traffic, connecting Highway 17 Bypass to Kings Highway.
