ROCK HILL — An Ohio-based engineering, manufacturing and design firm announced earlier this week its acquisition of Air Filters & Equipment, a Rock Hill company that provides air filtration manufacturing, engineering and services.
Pak/Teem, which is located in Sharonville, Ohio, near Cincinnati, announced the acquisition will add more than $2 million to its revenues. Terms of the deal weren't released.
“There is a growing need for increasingly sophisticated air filtration systems and equipment,” said James Wilkinson, president and CEO of Pak/Teem. “Our customers are constantly searching for ways to improve the quality of their products. At the same time, they also want to improve the environment for their employees and neighbors. With this acquisition, Pak/Teem is uniquely positioned to serve its customers’ needs and meet the demand.”
AF&E, which was founded in 1989, will retain its Rock Hill facility, which has 17 employees. The company provides filtration equipment and media to the textiles, paper, furniture, cardboard, rubber, tobacco, grain and automotive industries. General Manager Chris Kennington will remain in that position and his father Ken Kennington, founder of AF&E, will serve as a consultant.
“My father and I are delighted with the opportunity to assist in creating a company that will truly provide turnkey dust control/industrial ventilation solutions,” said Chris Kennington. “Combining Pak/Teem’s capability to analyze and capture dust or vapors at the source with our filtration expertise sets us completely apart from other filter manufacturers.”
Pak/Teem, also founded in 1989, offers engineering, manufacturing and industrial maintenance services in areas that include industrial ventilation, material handling, packaging systems integration, custom fabrication and machining.
