Payne named Outstanding Young Banker

COLUMBIA -– Kitty B. Payne of First National Bank of the South was named Outstanding Young Banker for 2007 at the South Carolina Bankers Association’s annual convention in June.  Payne is executive vice president and chief financial officer at First National Bank of the South, headquartered in Spartanburg. In addition to her responsibilities as the CFO of the bank, she also oversees the marketing manager and works closely with the retail branch staff. She has been with First National since its inception in 1999 and is a graduate of Clemson University. Payne was given this award on the threshold of assuming her position as first vice chair of the SCBA’s Young Banker Division. In 2009, she’ll chair the division.
