GREENVILLE -- SC Launch!, an SCRA collaboration, says it will present a $125,000 check to PromoPipeline
at a ceremony this afternoon in Greenville. PromoPipeline has developed
a search engine to help resellers locate promotions to improve
communications between vendors, distributors and resellers.
SCRA, a public, non-stock research and development company with offices
in Charleston and Columbia, collaborates with industry, government and
research universities such as Clemson, the University of South Carolina
and the Medical University of South Carolina to develop technologies.
SC Launch! assists entrepreneurial start up companies with up-front
counseling, seed-funding, and access to a powerful resource network.
PromoPipeline, headquartered in Greenville, was founded in 2005. The
company provides a search engine platform that enables resellers to
efficiently locate promotions, thereby improving communications between
vendors, distributors and resellers. It also provides the tools that
vendors need to increase promotion effectiveness and helps streamline
internal promotion management and workflow.
“Although the investment from SC Launch! is why we initially began a
dialogue with their team, that ended up being only a fraction of the
benefit,” said Colin Martin, PromoPipeline CEO. “The whole process has
been immeasurably helpful to enable us to get to the next level, be
prepared for the growth of our business and be well-positioned for
future funding opportunities.
“Through the SC Launch! Resource Network, we have engaged the Spiro
Institute at Clemson University," Martin added. "Their MBA students and
staff are researching new markets for our product. Working with the
Spiro Institute has saved us resources and time that we’ve been able to
redirect to grow our business.”
