PROSPERITY– Pioneer Frozen Foods announced Thursday it will expand its Newberry County facility. The company will invest about $11.5 million and create 25 new jobs as a result of the expansion in Prosperity.

“Over the last five years, we have had an excellent relationship with the state of South Carolina and Newberry County. As we reviewed options for the new production systems, it was apparent our Prosperity plant was the best choice amongst our eight facilities,” said Dale W. Tremblay, president and CEO of C.H. Guenther & Son Inc.

A subsidiary of San Antonio-based C.H. Guenther & Son Inc., Pioneer Frozen Foods began operating in Prosperity in 2002. For more than 150 years, the company has produced brands including Pioneer Brand, White Wings and Morrison branded products, as well as other products for restaurant companies. Production of a new product for McDonald’s restaurants drove the need for expanded production in Newberry County.
