Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards will bring his campaign back to South Carolina on Thursday for a series of stops in the state's so-called "Corridor of Shame."
Edwards was among four Democrats who asked their names be stricken from Michigan primary ballots in solidarity with the South Carolina Democratic Committee's desire to preserve its Jan. 29 primary's importance to next year's election cycle. The others were Sen. Barack Obama, Sen. Joe Biden and Gov. Bill Richardson.
Edwards will speak to students and faculty at Darlington High School and take questions from students before heading to Brown's BBQ in Kingstree to greet supporters.
Edwards will later meet administrators and students in Clarendon County and tour downtown Walterboro before headlining a Jasper County Democratic Party dinner.
The campaign swing is intended to highlight his views on rural redevelopment and education plans.
Edward's full itinerary is as follows:
• 11 a.m.: Address students and faculty, Darlington High School, 525 Spring St., Darlington
• 1 p.m.: Greet supporters, Brown's BBQ, 809 North Williamsburg County Highway, Kingstree
• 3 p.m.: Address students and community supporters, Scott's Branch High School, 9253 Alex Harvin Highway, Summerton
• 7:30 p.m.: Headline Jasper County Democratic Party dinner, Ridgeland Middle School, 3776 Bees Creek Road, Ridgeland
