Ellis, Lawhorne & Sims attorneys named to 'Best Lawyers' list |

COLUMBIA -- Ellis, Lawhorne & Sims P.A. announced 11 of the firm’s 32 attorneys—more than half the firm’s shareholders—were named to the 2008 edition of “Best Lawyers in America.” The Ellis Lawhorne attorneys were selected out of a pool of more than 2 million entries nationwide to be featured in the publication.
Those honored include all five of the firm’s shareholders specializing in workers’ compensation law: F. Earl Ellis Jr., Ernest G. Lawhorne, William L. Harbison, Mary Sowell League and Lana H. Sims Jr. All three of the firm’s shareholders specializing in trusts and estates were also selected: Rita Bragg Cullum, David C. Sojourner and Karen Hudson Thomas. William O. Higgins and William P. McElveen Jr., both shareholders at Ellis Lawhorne specializing in real estate law, and John T. Lay Jr., also a shareholder, specializing in commercial litigation, were named to the “Best Lawyers in America” list as well.
