BEAUFORT -- A Hilton Head Island real estate developer is part of the company aiming to buy the Port of Port Royal and turn its concrete pier into a 225-slip marina, four-story hotel and hundreds of offices and homes. David Staley, owner of Main Street Realty in Hilton Head, is a principal in Port Royal Harbour LLC, which was formed Nov. 1 to purchase the 316 acres from the S.C. State Ports Authority for nearly $26 million.
