A feeling of making a difference is one of the reasons St. Louis-based Edward Jones is No. 1 among large companies in the Best Places to Work in South Carolina awards.
“This is the best company I have ever worked for. I feel that I make a difference here. I am an important part of what makes this office work and Edward Jones rewards me for that. When I need help, it is always there in a friendly manner and they stay with you until it is complete,” an employee wrote.
With nearly 9,000 branches and 7 million clients, Edward Jones employees could easily find themselves lost in a corporate shuffle. But Edward Jones believes its employees are the source of its success.
Affordable health care benefits, a 401(k) matching contribution and flexible work schedules are just some of the benefits employees at investment firm Edward Jones cite as reasons the company is a great place to work.
One employee with two young children said Edward Jones is a family-friendly company. The firm provides a generous maternity leave and supports clients during that time. And the company is flexible enough that its employees can be home in the evening, she added.
This is the second year Edward Jones has been ranked No. 1 among large companies in the Best Places to Work in South Carolina awards. In the 2007 Fortune rankings, Edward Jones was No. 29 on the “Best Companies to Work For” list and No. 9 on the list of large companies.
