President and CEO Gary Bulloch believes in hiring people based on their attitude rather than a particular skill set.
“We hire attitudes and teach skill,” he said. “And we understand that the continued growth of each individual is critical to our success and growth as an organization.”
Bulloch purchased American Stainless & Supply in early 2001, keeping all the original employees, many of whom had been with the company for more than 10 years. Additional employees have been added and the company continues to grow.
Bulloch doesn’t mind moving employees throughout the company until they find their particular niche.
He focuses on the employees while offering various benefits and company perks.
Bulloch does offer up his personal library of business and motivational books and CDs. Each Friday, a local pastor leads a 15-minute devotional, motivating employees. Also, a chaplain comes in each week, visiting every department and assisting where needed.
“It’s not so much about the perks,” said one employee. “(Bulloch is) a genuine person and everyone enjoys working for him.”
