SPARTANBURG -- Schwan's Global Supply Chain Inc., a division of The Schwan Food Co., said Thursday it plans to shut down its Spartanburg production facility by the end of March, putting 525 employees out of work. The Spartanburg facility has been part of the company's manufacturing and dessert division since Schwan acquired Mrs. Smith's in 2003.
