COLUMBIA -- Developers have canceled two major projects in downtown Columbia because of a softening condominium market locally and fears of a national recession. Columbia native Jerry Kline, owner of the Kline Iron & Metal property on Huger Street, told The State he has put his $120 million, 4.7-acre Kline Center project on hold indefinitely because of concerns about the downtown condo market.
