ORANGEBURG — ACO Distribution & Warehousing Inc. has acquired the former Velcorex property in Orangeburg, where it will construct its new facility. The company will invest more than $3.7 million to expand the existing facility and plans to create 14 new jobs in Orangeburg County.

“We are really proud to be here in Orangeburg County. Orangeburg is a great location in the global logistics market,” said Randy Arnold, vice president of operations for ACO Distribution. “Our location is just one hour to the port and four interstate highways are within 45 minutes of our location. Rail, distribution, and warehousing services with excellent access to markets is what we offer out of this new facility.”

ACO Distribution & Warehousing, Inc. will provide general warehousing and storage services. It will operate a distribution warehouse and provide space and labor for businesses. The company will perform repackaging and ship goods by rail or motor freight.

Central S.C. Alliance Chairman George Bullwinkel Jr. said, "We are excited about this new startup company launching its operations in Orangeburg County. It's exciting to see an unoccupied building being up-fitted for this project. Our goal is to attract companies that will improve the standard of living for the people of Central South Carolina."

The ACO Distribution & Warehousing Center will be located on the former Velcorex property, a 388,000 square-foot building built in 1969. ACO Distribution & Warehousing Inc. plans to expand the building, extend existing rail track, and construct an unloading dock with a building enclosure of about 15,400 square feet.
