Clemson Trustee Thomas C. Lynch Jr. retiring

CLEMSON -- Clemson University Trustee Thomas C. Lynch Jr. of Clemson is retiring from the Board of Trustees, effective immediately, citing personal and health-related reasons.

Thomas C. Lynch Jr.“We appreciate Tom’s service to the board and to Clemson,” said Chairman Leon J. “Bill” Hendrix. “We regret that he will not be able to continue serving in this capacity, but we understand and accept his decision.”

Clemson’s board includes seven self-perpetuating life members and six members elected by the General Assembly.

Lynch, who completed his studies at Clemson in 1958, was first elected to the board in 2002 by the legislature and was re-elected in 2006 for a term that would have expired in 2010.
