Milliken to fuel plant with landfill methane

SPARTANBURG -- Milliken & Co. has announced it will partner with Spartanburg County to harvest methane gas from a landfill in Wellford. The partnership will enable Milliken to modify its Dewey Chemical plant in Inman to use methane fuel, as opposed to natural gas, in its manufacturing process. Milliken will purchase the landfill's methane, a naturally generated byproduct of landfill decomposition, from Spartanburg County.
