Melania Ballish Regueiro began her career as a ballet dancer at age 14, when she left home to dance in the National Ballet in Cuba. She danced all over the world, but after the birth of her son, she and her husband decided to raise him in the United States.
Ballish Regueiro applied for her permanent resident status while living in Germany. After about a year, she was able to move to the United States.
As the property manager for Summit Place Apartments in North Charleston, Ballish Regueiro has spent the last five years working to improve the complex.
“We have worked really hard to increase the tenant profile. We are working to achieve this by instilling pride in our community. Our residents are no longer complacent and take interest in their surroundings. We work as a community to make everyone’s life a little bit better.”
Ballish Regueiro also works with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Summerville, raising money for the church’s ministries.
