Human resource director, David M. Gilston Insurance Agency
Melanie Page Jackson believes life should not be about what one acquires; instead, it should be about what one gives.
As human resource director for the David M. Gilston Insurance Agency, she truly gives back to the firm’s employees.
“I have always enjoyed working with people, and one of my passions lies in helping individuals realize their potential,” she said. “Working in higher education and human resources allows me to combine my passions as well as my strengths.”
Jackson is responsible for a number of the Gilston Agency’s HR functions, including recruiting and staffing; performance management and improvement systems; employee orientation, development and training; employee mentoring; company employee and community communication; employee safety, welfare, wellness and health; charitable giving; and employee services and counseling.
Jackson is a volunteer at the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital, member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, a training facilitator for Darkness to Light, a five-year award recipient for Greenville County’s Guardian ad Litem Program and president of Anderson University Women’s Council.
