Lisa Kerr’s engineer father recognized her interest in math, art and space organization. He encouraged her to take a drafting class in high school where Kerr was required to design and provide drawings for a house.
While Kerr knew she wanted to pursue a career in architecture and design, she also was intrigued with the idea of tackling interior design challenges.
“I didn’t want to only designing houses, I wanted to work with corporations, and make a difference by touching interior environments that many people would be affected by,” she said.
Kerr is a senior interior designer with LS3P Associates Ltd., a regional architecture and interior design firm. Kerr focuses on interior design, handling project management, project design and working as collaborative design leader and coordinating all project phases.
Kerr serves on the board of the International Interior Design Association, is a class volunteer at the Art Institute of Charleston and is a volunteer with the 2008 Relay for Life.

Favorite hour of the day and why: Sunset over the water. It’s a relaxing transition time between day and night activities.
