Leslie Norris’ volunteer work benefiting children hits particularly close to home.
“Inspired by my daughter, Riley, a congenital heart defect patient at MUSC Children’s Hospital, I feel it is important to support the institution that helps improve the quality of life for so many children,” she said.
Norris and her family participate in the Little Heart Walk sponsored by the American Heart Association and many other fundraisers such as radiothons, television broadcasts, the Reindeer Run and the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Christmas Cards fundraiser.
Professionally, Norris oversees the human resources, recruiting and training functions of the South Carolina Federal Credit Union. Her mission is to ensure the company aligns employee skills and training to best achieve organizational goals, she said.
“It’s very rewarding to help companies and employees strike the delicate balance of a mutually beneficial relationship. There is nothing more gratifying than creating an environment that allows employees to reach their maximum potential.”

Best stress reliever: Exercise/spinning.
Person you would like to meet: Chris Evert — I played junior tennis and collegiate tennis, and I think it would be awesome to meet one of the pioneers of women’s tennis.
Favorite vacation spot: The Sanctuary at Kiawah — close enough to home yet a wonderful relaxing getaway.
