President, Ross Printing
Ross Printing is a family business dating back to the 1940s. Operating in Charleston for the last 21 years, the full-service printing company is growing fast under Jeremy Ross.
A third-generation printer, Ross said he first took a role in the company because it seemed convenient. But it soon became a passion.
“(Professionally, my goal) is to grow my business in reputation and profitability while continuing to be a good local corporate citizen,” Ross said.
He is president of the Rotary Club of Goose Creek, having founded the Goose Creek Rotary Scholarship with Trident Technical College while also working with Helping Hands of Goose Creek to open a computer learning center.
Ross also supports the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Great Strides event, the Women of Distinction event with the Girl Scouts, the Yom HaShoah Holocaust Memorial Program and the Carolina Youth Development Center. Ross is a volunteer assistant instructor of martial arts for children and beginners.
While running a growing business, Ross remembers the words of wisdom from his father: “Don’t forget to live. My father gave me this advice when he retired. Life is too short to be all-consumed with work — and even when at work, find fun in your job. I’d bet we average five times the amount of laughter that most businesses do.”
Books on your nightstand: “Siddhartha” by Hermann Hesse, a biography of Ben Franklin, Discover magazine, The Rotarian magazine and “How the Mind Works” by Stephen Pinker.
Best stress reliever: Martial arts.
Person you would like to meet: Ben Franklin, an amazing man and a printer, too.
Favorite hour of the day and why: 7:30-8:30 a.m. I can work, generally, uninterrupted. However, life is beautiful all day long.
