Co-artistic director, Theatre 99/The Have Nots! Comedy Improv Co.
In 1995, The Have Nots! was an unofficial part of Piccolo Spoleto. The group also toured college markets, and by 1998, the team’s three members realized they just might be able to make a living at comedy. The unique chemistry and trust Brandy Sullivan shared with her fellow comedians, Greg Tavares and Timmy Finch, made the decision easy for her. Since the three began performing, they have done more than 1,200 shows in 26 states.
As co-artistic director, Sullivan runs the day-to-day business of Theatre 99 where The Have Nots! performs. She also co-produces the Piccolo Fringe series and the Charleston Comedy Festival.
Theatre 99 produces three improv shows each week and offers an improv training program. But Sullivan would like to see the theater compete on a national level so it can continue to develop local talent while hosting nationally known artists.
In addition, Sullivan wants to continue offering affordable ticket prices so that live performances are accessible to the entire community.
