Associate architect, Liollio Architecture
Jay White describes his company, Liollio Architecture, as “a mighty fine architecture studio filled with my mighty fine colleagues.”
White said, “As a client recently told us, ‘You guys get it.’”
He takes his role in this profession seriously, striving in all aspects of work and life to be a good mentor to those around him.
During White’s childhood, architecture wasn’t his only interest. “The idea (architecture) originated during my childhood, although at the time, I preferred the idea of riding on the back of the garbage truck,” he said.
White is active with First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, serving on the board of deacons and various committees. Through his church he helped organize and lead a joint mission trip to Honduras with Habitat for Humanity International. White is also a board member of the Scottish Society of Charleston, which organizes the annual Scottish Games and Highland Gathering at Boone Hall. He is also a tower bell ringer at Grace Episcopal Church.
