GE order won't affect Greenville job numbers

GREENVILLE -- An order for 667 wind turbines from oilman T. Boone Pickens won't affect employment at General Electric Co.'s Greenville plant, a GE spokesman said, despite Rep. Bob Inglis' suggestion that it would lead to "new South Carolina jobs." A spokesman for GE’s Greenville plant said the company hasn’t decided where to build the turbines Pickens ordered as part of plans to build the world’s largest wind farm in Texas.
