SPARTANBURG – Knights Apparel Inc., a manufacturer of licensed sports apparel, has relocated its corporate headquarters from Oak Brook, Ill., to Spartanburg, the final step in the company’s effort to consolidate all of its operating areas under one roof.

Earlier this year, Knights shifted customer service, production art and other functions from Red Oak Sportswear, a Texas-based company it had acquired in 2005, to Spartanburg.

The existing 350,000-square-foot warehouse and office building in Spartanburg now has approximately 225 employees.

"I am pleased that the headquarters and Red Oak relocations, coupled with our growth, has allowed us to add over 50 jobs to the Spartanburg area in 2008," said CEO Joseph Bozich.

“Like many geographical areas in the United States, Spartanburg has been hit hard by plant closings and layoffs,” said Donnie Hodge, president and COO. “We are proud that Knights Apparel has been able to add meaningful jobs to an area impacted by these difficult economic times."
