COLUMBIA -- A veteran of the S.C. banking industry will be the new president of Ameris Bank in South Carolina. As the president of S.C. operations, Richard Sturm will be in charge of opening a statewide headquarters in Columbia, said Ameris Banking Group President John Hipp. A USC graduate, Sturm has worked at Ameris Bank since 2006 and he previously was the regional executive for the bank’s offices west of I-95.
