United Way approves funding for 132 programs with 70 nonprofit agencies Print E-mail

SPARTANBURG -- The United Way of the Piedmont's record-setting campaign will fund 132 programs through 70 nonprofits in Spartanburg, Union and Cherokee counties. Last month, the United Way announced it had raised $4.8 million during the fiscal year that recently ended. Now, 97 community volunteers have decided which programs to fund with that money. Agencies are receiving between $1,000 and $159,822. In all, $2.2 million is being allocated to local programming. Another $1.86 million will be used for community investment.
