Horry County still below median income for U.S. Print E-mail

MYRTLE BEACH -- Median household income in Brunswick County, N.C., fell by nearly $7,000 in 2007 and climbed about $2,300 in Horry County, according to statistics released Tuesday by the U.S. Census Bureau. Both counties' median income figures, though, are below the national median of $50,740, and the region's health care and nonprofit officials say they don't reflect the toll the economy is continuing to take on area residents, who are seeking more help from charities.
