COLUMBIA -- Ten companies with locations in South Carolina will be honored Tuesday for the 14th Annual Manufacturers Appreciation Night, presented by Spirit Telecom and hosted by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

The event recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of South Carolina manufacturers and will culminate with the announcement of the South Carolina Manufacturer of the Year awards. Jay Timmons, executive vice president of the National Association of Manufacturers, will discuss the impact of the 2008 elections on business.

The appreciation night will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Embassy Suites Columbia-Greystone.
