GREENVILLE -- Seneca-based MedProcure has received a $150,000 investment from the S.C. Research Authority’s SC Launch in Greenville.
MedProcure provides supply chain solutions for health care providers in the non-acute (non-hospital) market segments. The company provides inventory and procurement solutions for its clients, which include nursing homes, surgery centers, clinics, physicians, veterinarians and dentists.
MedProcure is headed by Tom Woodson, a Greenville native and Furman University graduate. His experience includes multiple early stage product launches and the development of sales, marketing and operations to support those products.
Woodson founded MedProcure in 2007 with partner David Quattlebaum, who has extensive software industry experience and was instrumental in the design and development of MedProcure products.
“The SC Launch investment has enabled us to focus on product growth for our South Carolina-based entrepreneurial startup company,” Woodson said.
The S.C. Research Authority has provided funding and support through its SC Launch program for 83 new knowledge-based startups in South Carolina since its inception in April 2006. According to a recent survey by the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, the total annual economic contribution of SCRA operations, technology parks and SC Launch was $1.4 billion in 2007.
