COLUMBIA -- CMARK International Inc., a provider of logistical and facility support to federal government institutions, said its bookings of new contract awards for the third quarter totaled more than $10.6 million, a 16% increase compared with the third quarter of 2007 and 244% more than the same period in 2006.

Bookings for the first three quarters of 2008 total more than $16,800,000, which is an increase of more than 15% from the same period in 2007 and a 250% increase from the same period in 2006. The Columbia-based company starts the fourth quarter with the largest backlog ever.

“The company is right on track with its sales plan to a variety of U.S. government agencies as well as government prime contractors,” said Charles W. Jones Jr., president and CEO of CMARK. “This increase in business reflects increasing infrastructure development, as well as product development including general construction, modular structures, food service equipment and furnishings.”

The company said milestones in the past three quarters have included the establishment of a Department of Defense mentor-protege program with EMCOR Group Inc.; the opening of its corporate finance office in Naples, Fla., allowing centralization of all corporate finance functions; and the opening a field support facility in Kuwait City for its project in the Middle East.

“We currently have 8 functioning offices in the U.S., as well as support activities and strategic alliances in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. With the current backlog reflecting these contract awards and a stronger corporate focus on business development, we should carry this significant momentum into the fourth quarter and further into 2009,” the company said.

CMARK International provides facility and logistic support services, including construction, architectural design, food service, furnishings and maintenance and operation services, with a primary focus on U.S. federal facilities.
