Sorensen named vice chairman of search firm Print E-mail

COLUMBIA -- Andrew A. Sorensen, who retired last summer as president of the University of South Carolina, has been named vice chairman of Loree Newmyer Sulkowicz LLC, an executive search firm headquartered in New York City.

Sorensen, who remains a professor at the USC Medical School, will direct the firm’s efforts in the academic and related institutional sectors. In addition, he will focus on board-level searches for both public and private organizations.

Loree Newmyer Sulkowicz was formed in May, two months before Sorensen retired.

“Our business is all about brains and judgment. So we consider the appointment of Dr. Sorensen a significant example of our recruiting prowess. His abilities and reputation are unsurpassed,” said Managing Partner Geoffrey Loree. In addition to its New York headquarters office, the firm has other two offices are in Cleveland and Palm Beach.
